Cycling Components conform
to the Distance Selling Regulations, which are designed to protect you when
buying items by Mail Order.
We aim to provide an efficient returns service, and this is regardless of your
reason for return, whether the item(s) purchased:
Do not fit
You have ordered the wrong item
Damaged or Faulty
Or you simply do not like the item
We are happy to either refund your purchase price, exchange for another item
(with difference in value being charged/refunded accordingly) or offer a credit
against a future purchase.
Please do note: it is very important that your provide your Sales
Invoice Number along with your reason for return, as this will help us to help
you, and speed up the returns process.
Returning for
Refund or Exchange
Please contact us within 7
working days of your intent to return and your reason. We are more than happy
to help if you require an exchange and require any subsequent advice.
- Item(s) must be returned within 7 working days
of receipt. Goods received after this time will only be exchanged or
credited to your account.
- Item(s) must be in original packaging and tags must remain on any form of clothing.
- Item(s) must not be fitted or used.
- Any refunds and/or exchanges will only be
issued once the products have been received by Cycling Components.
- Item(s) must be accompanied with a copy of original
proof of purchase and a reason for the return. If an item is simply
returned without any supporting documentation, then we will not be able to
process the return.
- PLEASE ENSURE that you
obtain a Certified Proof of Postage with your Post Office, as we can not
be held responsible for return items being lost in the postal service. A
proof of postage is free of charge.
- We regret that we are unable to refund any
postage costs you may have incurred from your original order unless
Cycling Components have despatched any item(s) in error.
Cycling Components offer
free postage on all orders over £15 (excluding complete bikes, framesets,
wheels, groupsets), but unfortunately we cannot extend this to product exchanges.
If you do return an item to be exchanged for a different size or colour etc,
then we will charge our standard shipping rate of £1.95 for small orders. Or
larger items, our standard Courier Rates will apply and this is dependant upon
your location. Please refer to our Delivery Options for details.
Custom Bike Builds
When
a bicycle has been built to your specification, then this bicycle has been
built specifically for you, and to your exact specification. This means that we
are not obliged to accept back custom bike builds for a refund or exchange. As
per our Cytech Accreditation, each and every bicycle that we sell undergoes a
complete PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) and this covers every aspect of the bike
including faults and damages.
Custom Built Bikes will be accepted back for refund or exchange, but a minimum
charge of £100 will be levied on an exchange or refund for bicycles costing up
to £1,000.00. A charge equal to 10% of the bicycle value will be levied for
bicycles costing over £1,000.00 to cover the time and effort taken in building
the bike. (Details of this policy will have been provided prior to your
acceptance of agreeing to a custom bike build.)
Faulty, damaged
or broken?
All goods purchased from Cycling
Components are coved by a full warranty. The duration of this warranty is at
least 1 year but some manufacturers offer extended warranty. Any such warranty
generally covers manufacturing faults and defects but do not cover
damage caused by crashing, abuse, general wear and tear etc. If you feel that
any item(s) you have purchased from Cycling Components has developed a fault
then please contact us before returning goods as many problems may be solved
without you incurring postage costs. If the goods need to be returned:
- Item(s)
must be clean. Please do not return items that are covered in oil and/or
dirt.
- Clothing must be washed
and clean.
- Item(s)
must be accompanied with an original proof of purchase and a reason for the
return.
- You will
have to pay the post office to return the goods but we will refund these costs
to you or send you a cheque for the value (UK orders
only.) PLEASE ensure that you obtain a Certified Proof f Postage with your
Post Office, as we can not be held responsible for return items being lost
in the postal service.
- We can only
refund the cost of 1st Class Royal Mail. If you are returning a large or
heavy item such as a frameset, then please contact us to arrange a
collection.
- You may
send goods back to us using an Express Carrier or Royal Mail Guaranteed
service, but we can only refund the approximate 1st class postage cost.
- If you live
outside the UK
unfortunately we cannot cover postage costs. You will need to pay to have
the item sent to us and we will request payment for returning the item(s)
before we send them.
- Items which develop a fault within the first
six months will be repaired or replaced. If the item is no longer
available, for instance, if the respective manufacturer/supplier no longer
produces a specific item, then we reserve the right to replace with an
item of similar or higher value.
- If an item develops a fault after this
period and up to six years from the date of purchase (excluding
consumable or perishable goods such as Tyres, Inner Tubes, Brake Blocks
etc) the onus will be on the customer to prove that the item is inherently
faulty in line with the Sale of Goods Act.
Exchanges
will only be issued when the products have been received by Cycling Components
and inspection has been carried out. In accordance with the distance selling
regulations, if a repair or replacement is not available, then we are obliged
to process any such refund within 30 days. However we generally try to process such
refunds as quickly as possible.
We will always strive to help you with any return request, and we will always
be as honest as possible with you. With that, may we kindly ask that you too
are honest when
dealing with us. We will try our best to resolve any problem you have.
With regards to faulty
items that are past season i.e. a previous year’s model we may not always be
able to offer an exchange as they may be discontinued and therefore
unavailable. Should this situation arise we will offer a repair or a refund
given that the fault is a warranty issue.
Received the
wrong item?
Although we aim to offer a
Professional Service, alas, we are only human and sometimes we do make
mistakes. If we have sent you an incorrect item then we will be happy to make
an exchange and cover your costs for the return postage.
- Please contact us by Telephone or Email prior
to returning an item, so that we may discuss the most cost effective
method for return. This is especially important if you are a Non-UK Customer.
- Item(s) must be returned within 7 working days
