In order to get the most enjoyment from any bicycle, it is important that it is serviced on a regular basis. Not only will this help maintain efficient running and dramatically improve the life of the main transmission parts, but will also improve the safety of your bike.

Here at Cycling Components we aim to offer a flexible approach to bicycle servicing and repairs, and provide a dedicated range of options for the servicing of Road Race Bicycles. Some of our pricing INCLUDES the cost of replacement parts, and where this is not the case, we will always inform you of the full cost involved.

From an inner tube replacement, to a complete bicycle strip down and rebuild, we can assure you of a fast, friendly and professional service from a fully qualified bicycle mechanic, trained to Cytech Level 2. 

Servicing Options

Brakes – Basic Service

  • Cable Adjustment, Brake Calliper Inspection, Brake Pad Inspection/Alignment, Ensure All Torque Settings are Correct, Final Brake Check.

  • New Inner/Outer Cables Fitted and Adjusted, Brake Calliper Clean/Inspection/Lube, New Brake Pads Fitted and Aligned, New Cable End Caps Fitted, New Cable Ferruls Fitted, Ensure All Torque Settings are Correct, Cable Lubrication, New ITM or Deda Cork Handlebar Tape Fitted, Final Brake Check.

    For Shimano/SRAM Brake Systems - Replacement parts will either be Clarks, BBB or XLC

 Bottom Bracket - Basic Service

  • Removal, Degrease, Clean, Lube, Ensure All Torque Settings are Correct for Bottom Bracket and Chainset

Bottom Bracket – Removal & Replacement of New Bottom Bracket

  • Complete removal of Existing Bottom Bracket, Degrease, Clean, Lube, Fit New Bottom Bracket, Ensure All Torque Settings are Correct for Bottom Bracket and Chainset.
    £15.00 – If Bottom Bracket supplied by Customer
    £8.00 –     If Bottom Bracket Purchased from Cycling Components

Fit New Chain

  • Removal of Old Chain, Rear Derailleur Degrease/Clean/Inspection/Lube, Chainrings Degrease/Clean/Inspection, Cassette Degrease/Clean/Inspection, Ensure All Torque Settings are Correct for Chainset and Cranks, Ensure New Chain is at the Correct Length for Gear Set-Up.

Handlebar Tape Fitment

  • Removal of Old Bar Tape, Cleaning of Handlebars, Apply New Bar Tape.

Wheel Truing

  • Alignment of Wheel Rim, Spoke Tension Measurement.

Wheel – Spoke Replacement

  • Spoke Replacement, Alignment of Wheel Rim, Spoke Tension Measurement.
    £16.00 per Wheel + Cost of Spoke(s) as applicable.
    (Please note: we are unable to service Mavic Wheels as we do not supply Mavic and so are unable to obtain any spares where required.)

Wheel Hubs

  • Degrease, Clean, Inspection, Lube.
    £20.00 per Wheel.
    £34.00 for Front/Rear Wheels when Booked Together.

Tyres – Removal & Replacement of New Tyres (HP Clinchers)

  • Removal of Existing Tyre and Inner Tube, Wheel Rim Inspection, Rim Tape Inspection, Apply New Tyre, Ensure Tyre Seated Correctly, Ensure Correct Tyre Pressure.
    1 Tyre (Front or Rear)

Puncture Repairs – Includes New Inner Tube

  • Removal of Existing Tyre and Inner Tube, Wheel Rim Inspection, Rim Tape Inspection, Tyre Inspection, Apply New Inner Tube, Ensure Tyre Seated Correctly, Ensure Correct Tyre Pressure.
    1 Inner Tube (Front or Rear)
    £5.00 –     Includes New Continental Race Inner Tube - 700 x 18/25c with 42mm Presta Valve
    (Other Inner Tubes available at cost price + £2.00 for fitment.)
  2 Inner Tubes (Front and Rear)

Front Forks - Replacement

  • Complete removal of Existing Forks, Removal of Fork Crown Race, Headset Degrease, Clean, Lube, Insert New Fork Crown Race, Cut Fork Steerer Tube to Correct Size, Rebuild, Ensure Headset is Free-from-Play in Headset.
    £20.00 – If Forks supplied by Customer
    £10.00     – If forks Purchased from Cycling Components

Front Forks – Replacement of Forks to Include New Headset

  • Complete removal of Existing Forks, Removal of Fork Crown Race, Complete removal of Existing Headset including Fork Crown, Upper/Lower Crown Race, Headset Degrease, Clean, Lube, Insert New Fork Crown Race, Cut Fork Steerer Tube to Correct Size, Rebuild, Ensure Headset is Free-from-Play.

Full Service – Option A

Your Bicycle will undergo a comprehensive Strip Down and Rebuild and this will encompass all of the following:

  • Brakes: Cable Adjustment, Brake Calliper Removal/Clean/Inspection/Lube, Brake Pad Inspection/Alignment, Ensure All Torque Settings are Correct, Cable Lubrication, Final Brake Check.
  • Gears: Cable Adjustment, Rear Derailleur Removal/Degrease/Clean/Inspection/Lube, Front Derailleur Removal/Degrease/Clean/Inspection/Lube, Chainrings Degrease/Clean/Inspection, Cassette Degrease/Clean/Inspection, Ensure All Torque Settings are Correct, Cable Lubrication, Gear System Alignment, Chain Degrease/Inspection, Final Gear System Check.
  • Headset: Check, Degrease, Clean, Lube, Ensure Free-from-Play.
  • Bottom Bracket: Removal, Degrease, Clean, Lube, Ensure All Torque Settings are Correct.
  • Chainset: Removal, Degrease, Clean, Lube, Ensure All Torque Settings are Correct.
  • Chain: Degrease, Clean, Lube.
  • Wheels: Alignment of Wheel Rim, Spoke Tension Measurement, Hubs Degreased, Cleaned, Lube.
  • Tyres: Check Tyre Condition and Ensure Correct Tyre Pressure.
  • Forks: Complete removal of Existing Forks, Degrease, Clean, Lube.
  • Pedals: Inspected and Lube where Appropriate.
  • Frame: Wash and Polish.
  • Full PDI: Full Pre-Delivery Inspection as if the Bike were Brand New.

Full Service – Option B

As for Option A, though this service also INCLUDES New Inner/Outer Cables, New Cable End Caps, New Cable Ferrules and New ITM or Deda Cork Handlebar Tape.

Complete Bike Build

Complete Bike Build to to include assembly as per British Cycling Standards 6102 part 1 1992. with this, the Right Hand STi Lever will be matched with the Front Brake, and the Left Hand STi Lever will be matched with the Rear Brake. This can be changed upon request and your confirmation. Bicycle is assembled by Fully Qualified Bicycle Mechanic to Cytech Level 2.

All Parts/Components will be Lubed and set to Required Torque Setting as per Manufacturers Guidelines:
